Malayali girl garners global attention with her speaking skills

Payyoli: Sena Yasar, a class 10 student at Thikkodiyan Memorial Payyoli Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, is enjoying global attention, thanks to her impeccable speaking skills. On Teachers’ Day (September 5), the young girl will be delivering a speech in front of her school teachers. She will be speaking on the topic ‘An ideal teacher: From the perspective of a student’.

Sena’s excellence in the English language has helped her gain international reputation. She effortlessly speaks Japanese and Spanish languages as well. Sena Yasar also engages with students from countries including USA, UK, Mexico, New Zealand, and Mauritius through her presentations via an E-Learning platform. She has written several English essays as well. Currently, Sena is busy writing a book.

Sena was in the news earlier for asking an impressive question to MP Shashi Tharoor at a function in Kozhikode. She holds the record for being the youngest professional speaker in the India Book of Records.

Covid times proved a life-changer for Sena. She improved her proficiency in English language during the pandemic, she started reading several English books during the period. Her critical review of a novel written by English writer Ruth Hamilton had become viral on YouTube a few months ago. Sena is a big fan of English movies as well.

Sena who had studied in Qatar till class four, decided to join Payyoli school after being impressed by the huge library in the institution. Yasir Rarari and Nazriya are Sena’s parents. She has a brother named Sehan.
