Kozhikode Passport Office wins India's Best Award for Excellence

New Delhi: The Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Kozhikode has been conferred with the prestigious "Best Passport Office Award in India." The award was presented at the Annual Passport Officers' Conference, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, recognizing the office's exceptional dedication to service quality and operational efficiency.

Shri Arunmohan K., IIS, the Regional Passport Officer, received the award from Shri Pabitra Margherita, the Honorable Minister of State for External Affairs. Additionally, Shri Satheesh Kumar Kootil, Assistant Passport Officer, was presented with the "Best Granting Officer Award" during the same ceremony.

The Kozhikode RPO handles approximately 3,500 applications daily and reported issuing over 600,000 passports and police clearance certificates in the past year. Its operational network includes five Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) situated in Kozhikode, Vatakara, Malappuram, Kannur, and Payyanur, alongside two Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Kasaragod and Kalpetta.

Notably, the office launched Kerala's first Mobile Passport Van, equipped for biometric data capture, an initiative aimed at improving accessibility to passport services, particularly in more remote areas within its jurisdiction.
