Kochi: In anticipation of increased passenger traffic during the festive season, Kochi Metro has announced extended services for Christmas and New Year celebrations. A total of 10 additional services will be available during the evening rush hour, with operations extended until the early hours of New Year's Day.

Metro services will run with adjusted timings, ensuring smooth travel for those celebrating. The extended services will continue until January 4, catering to the increased number of passengers. On New Year's Eve, the last service from Thripunithura Terminal will depart at 1:30 am, while the last service from Aluva will leave at 1:45 am.

In addition, the Water Metro will also adjust its schedule to accommodate more commuters. Services on the High Court to Fort Kochi route will run at 15-minute intervals, improving access to the popular New Year celebration hotspots in Fort Kochi. Previously, the Water Metro had been operating at 30-minute intervals.

These changes are aimed at ensuring seamless travel for residents and visitors alike, with extra attention given to routes likely to experience high demand during the festive period.
