Goons assault man, daughter in Pothencode

Thiruvananthapuram: A man and his daughter were assaulted by a gang of goons at Pothencode here. The incident took place on the road on Wednesday night. It is alleged that the vehicle in which the man and his daughter, hailing from Venjarammoodu, were travelling was stopped and attacked by a gang of four.

The family was stopped by the gang when they were unable to provide space for their car to take a turn. The car could not be reversed as there were several vehicles on the main road.

The enraged goons got out of the vehicle and attacked the man and daughter. They attacked the father while showering abuse, and the daughter was allegedly assaulted while she tried to stop them.

It is learned that Faisal, the accused in the Pallippuram gold robbery case, was involved in the attack. Police have registered a case on the complaint of the family. Police said the car in which the accused were travelling was taken into custody.
