Kerala weather alert: Cyclone Fengal to bring rain for 4 days

An extremely severe depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal has intensified and is expected to become a cyclonic storm by Wednesday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. The storm, named Fengal, as recommended by Saudi Arabia, is expected to move toward the Tamil Nadu coast, passing along the Sri Lanka coast.
Due to its influence, Kerala is likely to experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms for the next four days, with heavy rain possible in isolated areas on Wednesday.
Fishing advisory for Kerala coast
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for fishermen along the Kerala coast, advising them not to venture into the sea until November 29. Strong winds with speeds of 35 to 45 kmph, and gusts reaching up to 55 kmph, are expected along the south Kerala coast until Friday.
Fishermen are also advised against venturing into the sea off the Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh coasts, and parts of the Bay of Bengal, including the southwest, west-central, and southeast regions, until Saturday. The storm's intense winds and bad weather could pose risks. Fishermen already at sea are urged to return to the coast as soon as possible.
