Kottayam records highest temperature in India

Kottayam: With the mercury levels on the rise, Kottayam recorded the highest-ever temperature of 38.5 degree Celsius on Sunday. According to reports, this is India’s highest temperature level recorded in February.

The Indian Meteorological Department also published the data on the official website.
At the same time, Kalaburagi in Karnataka recorded 38.4 degree Celsius on February 1.

In 2014, Kottayam recorded 38.5 degree Celsius in March and April. But such highest temperature was not recorded in February of that year.

This February, temperature crossed 37-degree Celsius on 10 days.

At the same time, compared to last week, mercury level has fallen to 36.5 degree Celsius on Monday in Kottayam. The south district recorded 37.8 degree Celsius on February 17 and 11. Same temperature level was recorded in 1999 and 2018.
