CM’s ridiculing remarks at Nava Kerala Sadas fueled defeat: KC(M) leader Thomas Chazhikadan

Kottayam: Hitting out at the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan openly, Kerala Congress (M) leader and LDF candidate from Kottayam constituency Thomas Chazhikadan said that the reason for the LDF's heavy defeat in the Lok Sabha elections was CM's arrogant attitude. He also said that the criticism made against him by the Chief Minister during the Nava Kerala Sadas had fueled his defeat. The former Kottayam MP made this strong criticism in the Kerala Congress (M) steering committee meeting on Sunday.
Chazhikadan said in the meeting that he did not even get the votes V N Vasavan got when he contested as the LDF candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, Jose K Mani’s stance was that it is not right to blame only the Chief Minister for the election defeat. He said that they faced the election unitedly and hence should share the responsibility for the defeat also.
When the Nava Kerala Sadas arrived in Kottayam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ridiculed then MP Thomas Chazhikadan on stage. The Chief Minister then said that many people do not have enough understanding of the programme and that receiving complaints is not the only important thing. Chazhikadan, who had spoken just before, had publicly raised various demands to the Chief Minister. This was criticised by the Chief Minister.
