Rains keep off; thousands offer Karkidaka Vavu bali across Kerala

Kochi: On Monday, worshippers flocked to Kerala's bathing ghats and temples to participate in the Karkidaka vavu Bali ceremony, a ritual dedicated to deceased persons, at prominent 'balitharpan' sites.

Despite rainfall in certain regions, several areas experienced large crowds. The ritual begin in the wee hours of Monday.

A large number of devotees gathered in Aluva Manappuram, Thirunavaya, Varkala, Pamba, Thirunelly and other locations across the state.

Special plans have been made across the state to ensure sufficient amenities for worshippers.
