No funds since March: Minister’s claim on aid for pregnant Attappady women proved wrong

Palakkad: Minister K Radhakrishnan’s claim regarding the infant mortality in Attappady has been proven wrong. It has come to light that the distribution of financial aid for pregnant women has come to a standstill eight months ago. The fund allocated for 'Janani Janmaraksha' project was last disbursed in March. Accoridng to the project, Rs 2000 was provided for pregnant women to ensure nutritious food for them.

The minister who reached Attappady in the aftermath of recurring infant deaths, asserted that the interventions of the government are progressing intact. However, another project to assure nutritious food among the tribals is also not effectively implemented.
