IT raid at residence of YouTubers in Kerala, Rs 25 crore tax evasion unearthed

Kochi: In an effort to gather information about the income earned by public figures in the state, income tax officials conducted raids on the residences and workplaces of renowned YouTubers on Friday.

As per reports, the Income Tax Department has no information regarding the revenue generated by YouTubers. The department reportedly viewed the raid as a 'survey' to collect details on the financial matters.  

Meanwhile, the department aims to create awareness among YouTubers regarding the income tax rules before taking stringent action on issues like tax evasion. 

The raid also unearthed tax evasion of estimated Rs 25 crores. Interestingly, there are YouTubers who haven't paid any sum as taxes. Notices would be issued to these individuals.
