Thiruvananthapuram: New details have surfaced into the investigation into the death of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Megha Madhusudhanan, shedding light on a troubling series of events leading to her tragic demise.

Megha, who had been working at Thiruvananthapuram airport, tragically lost her life when she was struck by a train near the Pettah railway overbridge. Initially considered an unnatural death, the investigation has taken a turn with the emergence of these new details, and the police are now actively searching for her 'friend' Sukanth, who remains absconding.

Sukanth, a close friend of Megha and the primary suspect in her death, has been accused of creating fake documents to manipulate and deceive Megha into undergoing an abortion.

According to the police, Sukanth fabricated documents that falsely stated he and Megha were married. A fake marriage invitation card was also found in Megha's bag, further pointing to Sukanth's deceptive actions.

Police have uncovered that Megha underwent an abortion at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram in July. This has raised further questions about Sukanth's motives, as he later distanced himself from any involvement in the marriage, withdrawing his commitment to Megha just days before her death.

A day before Megha’s death, Sukanth reportedly sent a message to Megha’s mother, stating that he no longer wished to proceed with the marriage.

Police are planning to issue a lookout notice soon to track Sukanth.

He now faces charges of rape and abduction in connection with the case, which is being investigated by the Thiruvananthapuram Pettah police.
