Haj applicants can prioritise 2 embarkation points, Know how to apply

Kondotty: Haj pilgrims, who register via Kerala State Haj Committee, can prioritise 2 embankment points according to their convenience. Kozhikode, Kannur and Kochi airports are the embarkation centres from Kerala. 

The pilgrims can apply via websites hajcommittee.gov.in of the National Hajj Committee and keralahajcommittee.org of the Kerala State Haj Committee till March 10. The applicants should have machine readable passports issued before March 10, 2023 with a validity till February 3, 2024. Copies of passport, passport size colour photo with white background, copy of cancelled cheque or bank passbook, address proof, a declaration and Covid vaccine certificate have to be uploaded during the application procedures. 

Three categories of application

1. Reservation category

Applicants above 70 years of age, who have not performed haj pilgrimage, comprise the reserved category. Another person can assist each passenger under this category. The co-passenger should be husband/ wife, son/ daughter, son-in-law/ daughter-in-law, sister/ brother, grandchild, niece/ nephew of the applicant. Documents proving relationships are mandatory. 

If the co-passenger calls off the journey, the application itself gets cancelled. 

2. General category

General category includes pilgrims who have not performed haj earlier via the central and state haj committees.

3. Women without ‘mahram’

A maximum of four women above 45 years of age without a ‘mahram’ (blood relative male guardian) can apply for the haj pilgrimage under a single cover, abiding by the Islamic Madhhabs. The applicants should not have carried out haj pilgrimage via haj committees earlier. 

Training

State Haj Committee will provide training for the haj trainers and IT/ Akshaya staff in all districts over online application for haj pilgrimage. Haj service centres will be opened at Karipur haj house and a regional office in Puthiyara. Free online application centres will open across all districts under haj trainers.
