Girl who lost family in Pettimudy landslide passes Plus 2 exam with full A+ grades

Thiruvananthapuram: The girl, who lost her loved ones in the landslide in Pettimudy, did not lose strength and hope and managed to pass the Higher Secondary examination with flying colours.
G Gopika, a student of Pattom Government Girls Higher Secondary School, lost all her family members on the fateful day. She had to battle the grief and loneliness while she prepared for the exam. However, she managed to obtain A+ grade in all the subjects in Plus Two exam.
19 members of Gopika's family, including her father Ganesan and mother Thankam, were killed in the landslide in Pettimudy. At the time of the tragedy, Gopika was staying at the house of her father's niece Lekha at Ittikonam. She had talked to her father and mother shortly before the tragedy.
The girl had promised her parents that she would score good marks in the Plus Two examination. Despite the struggles, Gopika fought her odds and moved forward with confidence.
Gopika is happy that she was able to keep her promise. She gave heartfelt gratitude to all her teachers and friends who inspired her despite the hardships. Her ambition is to become a doctor. She is currently preparing for the NEET entrance exam.
