EP Jayarajan levels fresh allegations against UDF in 2015 Assembly ruckus case

Thiruvananthapuram: LDF Convener EP Jayarajan has levelled fresh allegations against UDF in the 2015 Assembly ruckus case. “We were resisting the attacks of the MLAs of ruling dispensation. UDF MLAs attacked V Sivankutty. Many women MLAs were also attacked. They had to bite a UDF MLA’s hand to save themselves,” he said.
“The protest was going on in a peaceful manner when the UDF MLAs started raising provocative slogans. The video of UDF MLAs attacking us was avoided purposefully. Only the later part was released. The visuals showing them unleashing attacks against women MLAs had aired on various TV channels. But the Oommen Chandy government resolved to take action against the LDF MLAs. Four women MLAs approached the court following this,” he added.
Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Wednesday had issued warrants against former Congress MLAs over KK Lathika’s complaint. Court also framed charges against General Education Minister V Sivankutty, former MLAs K Ajith, C K Sadasivan and K Kunhammed in the Assembly ruckus case.
The court listed the matter on September 26 for reading out the charges to accused EP Jayarajan, who was not present before it. EP Jayarajan reacted that he will appear before the court that day if his health permits him.
