Driver shortage disrupts boat services at Veli Tourist Village

Thiruvananthapuram: Uncertainty surrounds the tourist boat services at Veli Tourist Village due to a shortage of drivers.
The village boasts a total of six boats, including three safari boats, but only three are currently operational. The remaining boats are docked due to a shortage of drivers, who are appointed on a contract basis. This shortage has led to cancellations of tourist bookings and a significant drop in revenue.
Boat rides are a major attraction at Veli Tourist Village, drawing large crowds on holidays. However, visitors are often unable to enjoy these rides with their families due to the limited number of available boats.
Tourists have expressed concerns about the need for more staff to manage and operate the boat services effectively.
