Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will address criticisms levelled against the cabinet in the CPM state committee meeting on Friday. In the meeting, several ministers and their departments received criticism for their lack of initiative in taking decisive decisions. It was alleged that failure to take final decisions has left the Chief Minister to take a final call on several matters.

Even though the meeting acknowledged the achievements of the state government, several leaders raised questions about the performances of various departments. The home department, held by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, was criticized for losing control over Police.

It was argued that PWD, Health and Home Department failed to connect well with the public and have lost the appeal it once had.

Further, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, held by CPI minister GR Anil, was slammed for failing to take measures to control inflation in the market. Transport Minister Antony Raju also faced flak for the ongoing crisis in KSRTC.

Meanwhile, it is rumoured that a reshuffling in the state cabinet will follow if Chief Minister accepts the criticisms levelled against the ministers.

Those who attended the meeting also pointed out that the incumbent cabinet underperformed when compared to the first Pinarayi Vijayan ministry.
