Open places of worship, demands K Muraleedharan

Kozhikode: Vadakara MP K Muraleedharan raised a sharp criticism against the state government for not opening places of worship even after reopening beverages outlets. He noted that the government must express solidarity with the faithful like tipplers.

“I don’t understand how reopening of beverages outlets will maintain social distancing and reopening of temples, mosques, churches etc will violate social distancing,” said Muraleedharan.

He noted that committees of all religious places are ready to make necessary arrangements to follow the COVID-19 protocol. The government can implement virtual queue facilities in places of worship too, he added.

“There will be no community transmission of COVID-19 due to allowing places of worship to open. At present, the state is facing the spread of alcoholism instead of COVID-19. The app for liquor sale will create trouble for the government. Minister TP Ramakrishnan will be forced to give an explanation for many problems in the future,” noted the MP.

At the same time, K Muraleedharan also demanded the government to provide free quarantine facilities to expats.

“If the government is not ready to meet the expense of quarantine facilities for expats, UDF is ready to take care of them. The government should give an explanation on how they spent the money collected through CMDRF, the Congress leader said.

He also criticized the government for restricting entry of people from other states to Kerala.

“It is really unfortunate that the government is degrading the problems. The press meets of the Chief Minister at 5 pm have turned into a lying show from a reality show. The Chief Minister is researching on how to say lies at the government’s expense,” Muraleedharan accused.
