New Delhi: The CPI has come out in the open against the Kerala government in the Sprinklr controversy. CPI general secretary D Raja urged the Kerala government to provide a credible explanation to the public on the issue.

“Whatever the circumstances, there is no change in the stance taken by CPI in case of data privacy. The matter needs to be discussed in the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the controversy should be ended,” Raja told Mathrubhumi News.

The controversy that has brewed up is very serious. Private information of a person shouldn’t be handed over to anyone without permission. Privacy of individuals should be safeguarded, he added.

There is no clarity on the working of Sprinklr or how they handle the information provided. Hence the Kerala government should ensure security of the data. Measures for it has to be taken by the government, he further demanded.

“The LDF government is liable to answer the public in the wake of the controversy. The explanation provided in the CPI mouthpiece ‘Janayugom’ should be discussed in LDF and a solution should be arrived at,” Raja urged.

He also opined that the Opposition should not have been provided the chance to mislead the state government into a controversy. The government shouldn’t allow suspicion to linger on it and must come out clean, Raja added.
