Thiruvalla: For Vishnu Sasikumar, the dream of joining the Indian civil services was instilled in him by his parents from a young age. Their guidance and encouragement fueled his ambition, leading him on a path towards achieving his goal.

After completing his schooling, Vishnu pursued a degree in Political Science and Economics at Saint Stephen's College, Delhi, laying the foundation for his future endeavors in the civil services sector.

Vishnu's journey towards his dream took a significant step forward when he secured the 394th rank in his previous attempt at the civil services examination. He continued his pursuit and participated in the second round of the civil services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) while undergoing training for the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Delhi's DANIC Service. This time, his perseverance bore fruit as he achieved an impressive rank of 31.

Speaking about his aspirations, Vishnu expressed his desire to serve in the foreign service which led to his current success. At 28 years old, Vishnu, the only child of Sasikumar P, an electrical engineer, and Suma, a private school teacher, has made his family proud with his remarkable achievement. Despite growing up and studying in Gujarat, Vishnu remains connected to his roots, maintaining proficiency in reading and writing Malayalam.
