Chennithala urges BLOs to visit voters’ residences to prevent double votes

Kochi: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala has listed out certain suggestions to prevent double votes from being cast in the April 6 Assembly elections in the state. Chennithala has submitted a report containing the suggestions to the High Court.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) should visit the residences of the voters having double votes and inform them where they should cast their vote. A written consent on this should be collected. Further it should be informed to the presiding officer. When the voter appears to vote, a photo should be taken and uploaded on the server. After voting, the photos should be inspected and single votes should be ensured. All these process can be done quickly and effectively with the use of technology, he said in the report.
The HC had asked the Election Commission also to furnish suggestions regarding double votes. EC will inform it in HC today.
Division bench including chief justice will consider the petition later in the day.
