Palakkad: The midnight drama orchestrated by the CPM and BJP to cover up their embarrassment over the ‘Kodakara black money case’ came a cropper even before it could reach the stage, said VD Satheesan, Leader of the Opposition.

Speaking to reporters in Palakkad on Wednesday, Satheesan remarked that the "box of corruption money" is not hidden in the rooms of Congress leaders, but at the Cliff House, where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan resides.

“The conspiracy behind the raid was masterminded by Minister MB Rajesh and his brother-in-law. The minister should resign immediately,” Satheesan stated.

“It is crystal clear that the raid was conducted with the knowledge and blessings of both CPM and BJP leaders. The script was written by Minister MB Rajesh and his brother-in-law, a CPM leader, with the involvement of BJP leaders. There are numerous contradictions in the police's explanation of the raid. They went directly to the rooms of Congress leaders Shanimol Usman and Bindu Krishna, which seems to have been a deliberate attempt to insult the women leaders,” Satheesan said.

“The CPM has turned the state police force into a shameless unit, reducing them to mere pawns. How did Kairali TV get to know about the raid? Did the police tip them off? When the police arrived at the hotel for the raid, a crowd of CPM and BJP workers was already waiting. Now, they claim to have been there to capture visuals of ‘black money’ being shifted from the hotel. But there is no black money in the rooms of Congress leaders. If they want to find black money, they should look for it at the Cliff House,” Satheesan added.
