Deceased couple's sons request Boby Chemmanur to give back documents, use the amount to help poor
Thiruvananthapuram: After purchasing the disputed land in Neyyattinkara, businessman and philanthropist Boby Chemmanur visted the deceased couple’s children in person. However, Ranjith and Rahul, sons of deceased Rajan and Ambili, said that they are grateful to Boby Chemmanur for his compassionate act but it is the government that should give the land to them. Boby Chemmanur said that he arrived at Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday morning as informed by Boby Fans and Charitable Association.
“I came to know through the media that these children only wanted to live in the land where their parents were buried. With this, I came to Thiruvananthapuram as informed by Boby Fans and held talks with Vasantha. They agreed upon a price and handed over advance amount. I came here to hand over the documents to the children. We will construct a new house here. Till it is completed, both these children can stay with me in Sobha City. I thank God for being able to do all this in the new year, Boby Chemmanur said.
However, Rahul and Ranjith politely declined his offer and explained the legal issues related to the land dispute. “We are grateful to you and have great respect for you. But this is a disputed land. Vasantha has no right over this. She might have given you fake documents. You should kindly give back these papers and use that money to help poor people,” Rahul and Ranjith said.
With this, Boby Chemmanur made it clear that if Vasantha gave him fake documents, he would deal with it legally. When the lawyers checked the documents, no issues were found in it. We were not aware of the stay order. However, the legal matters will be examined. We will always be with the children to fulfil their dream to make a house in the same land, he added.
