BJP state secretary Surendran receives bail in Manjeshwar bribery case

Kasaragod: BJP state general secretary K Surendran received bail in connection with the Manjeshwar election bribery case.
Surendran and five others accused in the case received bail after they appeared before the District Sessions Court in Kasaragod on Wednesday.
Earlier, the court directed Surendran and all other accused to appear before the court. Meanwhile, the court will consider the leader's discharge petition in the case on November 15.
The case pertains to the accused allegedly offering the BSP candidate, Sundara, a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh and a smartphone to withdraw from contesting in the 2021 Assembly Elections in Kerala. Based on Sundara's claims and a complaint lodged by the CPM candidate V.V. Rameshan, the police registered a case.
