9 crore delivered in 6 sacks to party office, claims former BJP leader in Kerala

Thrissur: In a fresh twist to the Kodakara black money case, former BJP District Committee Secretary Tirur Satheesh has made serious allegations against party leaders, claiming that Rs 9 crore was brought to Thrissur by party leaders.

Satheesh claimed that Rs 9 crore initially arrived in Thrissur in six bags, out of which three bags were immediately moved to another location.

He demanded an investigation into who took these bags and where they were taken. He also called for those who handed over the money to come forward and reveal the details.

"The money laundering operation is one of the most serious crimes in the country. Those involved in such an act must be punished. The district treasurer is the one who handles the money, and the funds are distributed only under the guidance of the party's district president, Aneesh. The only mistake I made was to stand guard to the money kept safe at the district committee office," he said.

He pointed out that the BJP had 2,300 booths in Thrissur district, but only a few were active. For election activities, each booth was allotted a maximum of Rs 10,000, and Satheesh insisted that the party leadership must clarify what happened to any remaining funds. He demanded transparency regarding who took the leftover money, for what purpose it was used, and how it was distributed.

Despite claims that all funds had been distributed, Satheesh revealed that Rs 1.5 crore remained at the party office for over a month.

"The money was later transported in a bag and two large shopping bags in the party district secretary's car. It is unclear what happened to that money," he added.

Satheesh accused the BJP Thrissur unit of engaging in corrupt activities and demanded immediate dissolution of the district committee. He called for those responsible for the black money dealings to be brought before the law.
