Kozhikode: Youth League state secretary PK Firos, on Tuesday, alleged that CPM is trying for backdoor appointments to the 116 faculty posts in Calicut University.

“Usually while calling for appointments in the university, the old list is closed and vacancies are properly estimated after looking at reservations, and then notifications are issued. But in the notification issued on March 4, it is said that the old list need not be closed. It is also said that all the related files need to be manual. Since 2012, all documents in Calicut University has been digitalized. Only the appointment-related files being manual indicates corruption,” Firos alleged.

He also added that the state government has submitted a report demanding to quash the case relating to appointments in Kerala University in 2008. Government is sending a message that no punishment will be awarded for involving in corruption, he added.

With the backlogs not being filled, minorities are being denied their rights. Muslim community needs not dates but protection of their rights, Firos further stated demanding all appointments should be made through PSC.
