Thiruvananthapuram: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Kerala on January 11 to participate in multiple programmes and meet party leaders ahead of the state assembly elections.

BJP Kerala president Rajeev Chandrasekhar recently confirmed that Shah, who also holds the portfolio of Union Minister of Cooperation, will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday to launch the BJP’s campaign for the 2026 Kerala Assembly polls.

According to the official itinerary, the day will begin with a ‘darshan and pooja’ at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, followed by a meeting with newly elected local body representatives in the state.

In the afternoon, Shah will participate in a BJP conclave and later convene a meeting with NDA leaders at the BJP state office, a government release said on Saturday.

The visit underscores the party’s strategy to engage with local leadership and mobilise support ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections in Kerala.
