Aluva missing case: Police seek public’s assistance in finding child

Kochi: It has been more than 18 hours since a 6-year-old child went missing in Aluva.
Ashfaq Alam, a Bihar native taken into custody and questioned on suspicion of kidnapping the child, has claimed that he handed over the child to another person. According to Ashfaq, he handed over the child to his friend Sakeer. As per the report, Sakeer is also taken into custody.
The child, the daughter of a Bihar couple, residing in a rented apartment in Choornikara Panchayat went missing on Friday evening. At the time of the incident, the accused was in an inebriated condition.
Later, CCTV footage from the area revealed that the child was last seen with Ashfaq. Following this, police arrested the Bihar native and began questioning him at Aluva East Police Station. In the CCTV footage, it clearly shows that the accused, along with the child, leave in a KSRTC bus. However, the police failed to trace the whereabouts of the child.
Despite efforts, the police were unable to receive any information from Ashfaq. He told police that he brought refreshments to the child but didn't reveal anything more.
The police have requested the public assistance in finding the girl. They have issued the photo and details of the missing child. Anyone with information that could assist police in their search is asked to contact them.
