Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch received information that a woman leader of Congress arranged the vehicle for the Youth Congress leader who has been accused of throwing explosive materials at the AKG Centre here.

The Crime Branch will soon interrogate her. However, sources said it is unlikely that she will be arrested. Police have not got custody of the scooter used by Jithin, the accused, during the crime. They are yet to find the t-shirt he wore at the time, which is a shred of crucial evidence that helped the police zero in on him.

According to police, Jithin arrived at the location on a Honda Dio scooter and also fled from the scene on the same vehicle after throwing the explosive at the office. The CCTV visuals were released earlier. They also say that he abandoned the scooter later and continued journey in a car. The car is already in police custody.

Though police said that Jithin has confessed to the crime, he told media that police coerced him to confess.
