Kottayam: Speaking to the media in Kottayam on Monday, ADGP MR Ajith Kumar informed that he has requested a thorough investigation into all allegations against him and has formally written to the government to initiate this process. His call for transparency follows the Chief Minister’s announcement of an inquiry into accusations made by MLA P. V. Anvar.

The ADGP, speaking after the Chief Minister’s address at the Police Association conference, praised CM for his support of the police force over the past eight years. He highlighted the increased workload and shortage of personnel within the force, presenting proposals to address these issues, including the suggestion to assign officers to their home stations.

Ajith Kumar emphasised that he has been the reason for several changes and highlighted the importance of the police's role in protecting the public and maintaining trust. He concluded his speech by urging everyone to uphold the faith that the public places in the police.

In response to Anvar’s allegations, the government has initiated an investigation, with the Chief Minister announcing that the Director General of Police (DGP) will oversee the inquiry. The Chief Minister stressed that any actions against police discipline will not be tolerated.
