Earlier, officials from the Ernakulam North Police had visited actor Shine Tom Chacko’s residence in Mundur on Friday and served a notice directing him to appear for questioning.
As the actor was not at home at the time, the notice was handed over to his family members, including his father and siblings.
Fled hotel during raid
Shine Tom Chacko allegedly fled from a private hotel during a police raid conducted on Thursday.
CCTV footage from the hotel shows the actor running out of the compound and getting onto a bike before escaping. However, it remains unclear whose bike he used. Following this, Shine had reportedly checked into a five-star hotel in Kochi and left around 3:30 a.m.
Close to midnight, he is said to have escaped through a window from the first hotel where he was staying, jumped onto the second floor, and then used the staircase to flee—leaving the police and excise officials stunned.
Earlier this week, actor Vincy Aloshious made a serious allegation against a co-actor. Initially, without naming anyone, she claimed that a male actor had misbehaved with her and was seen spitting with a suspicious white powder in his mouth.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, she confirmed that she had filed a complaint with film authorities, although she had not mentioned Shine Tom Chacko by name at the time. The incident reportedly occurred during the shooting of the film Soothravakyam.
