5-month-old baby seriously injured as stray dog attacks four in Malappuram’s Othukkungal

Malappuram, Kerala: A five-month-old baby was seriously injured after a stray dog entered a house and attacked him while he was asleep in Othukkungal, Malappuram district, on Saturday morning.
The infant, Hani Aseemi, son of Mohammed Rafi and Jauhara, had accompanied his parents to a relative's house for a family wedding when the attack occurred. He suffered bite injuries to his face, ear, head and hand.
The child was first taken to a private hospital in Kottakkal before being shifted to Manjeri Medical College Hospital for specialised treatment. Doctors said the injuries to his head and hand were serious.
Three others bitten in separate attacks
Three other people were also bitten in separate incidents in Othukkungal, with local authorities suspecting the same stray dog was responsible for all four attacks.
Ward member C.K. Rahoof said all four victims were attacked by the same black-coloured stray dog.
