Palakkad, Kerala: Tragedy struck near Kadamkode canal bridge on the Palakkad-Chittoor road late Saturday night when a car lost control and overturned into a paddy field, killing three young men. Police said the accident occurred around 11 pm.

Six friends were travelling from Chittoor to Palakkad when the car first hit a milestone and then a tree before tumbling into the field. Initial reports suggest the driver may have swerved to avoid a wild boar.

All six friends study or work at different places. Police said the group had a weekend tradition of travelling together to Palakkad. They usually meet during holidays and go on night rides.
