19 medicines, including cancer drug, brought under price regulation

Thrissur: Cancer drug Trastuzumab 150 mg injection has been brought under price regulation. The drug presented in the market jointly by Hetero Biopharma and Mankind Pharma is priced at Rs 15,817.49. The market price of the same medicine by other brands range between Rs 16,000-Rs 20,000. 

Similarly, painkillers and medicines for blood pressure have also been brought under price regulation. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has now set the prices for the medicines that are being newly introduced in the market. 

Meanwhile, an instruction was passed to continue the production and distribution of tetanus toxoid injections.
