Pathanamthitta: In an unusual turn of events, Noushad, a Pathanamthitta native, who went missing one-and-half years ago and was thought to be dead, was found in Thodupuzha on Friday morning. Earlier, Noushad's wife, Afsana, confessed to killing her husband and burying his mortal remains.

Noushad told the police that he fled from Pathanamthitta fearing his wife. He had been staying in a place called Thommankuthu for the past one-and-half years. He lived there as a daily wage labourer. Upon questioning, Noushad said that he was unaware of the ongoing investigations.

The locals of Thommankuthu informed the police of Nouyshad’s presence in the area. A police official named Jaymon, a native of Thommankuthu met Noushad and had a thorough conversation with him. Noushad told Jaymon that he was totally unaware of the ongoing searches for him and clarified that he had no clue about his wife’s confession of murdering him. It is known that Noushad was not in any sort of contact with his wife or relatives over the last one-and-half years. To make things worse, he never used any phone as well.

Baffled by his wife’s confession, Noushad said that he would never like to return to her. He said that he had differences with Afsana when they used to stay together. He also added that he ran away from  Afsana fearing that she would harm him.  "Don't know why she confessed to killing me," he noted.
