Vrindavan’s renowned seer, Premanand Maharaj, has provided a health update following reports of his worsening condition that circulated on Tuesday.
Social media has been abuzz recently with concerns over the health of Vrindavan saint Premanand Maharaj, after a video showing him with a swollen, reddened face went viral, sparking widespread alarm among his followers.
In response, the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Parikar Shridham Vrindavan released a statement clarifying that Maharaj is in good health and continues his regular activities, though his usual early morning walk has been put on hold for now. The administration urged devotees not to believe or spread unverified information about his condition.
Amid the growing speculation, Mathura Police also stepped in to calm the situation, confirming that the saint is “completely healthy.” Officials warned that strict action would be taken against anyone circulating false or misleading rumours. The police said that unverified claims of deteriorating health had caused anxiety among devotees, leading to crowding near his ashram in Vrindavan.
According to a report by ABP Live, Premanand Maharaj has been undergoing full-day dialysis for some time due to poor kidney functioning. Despite numerous devotees coming forward to donate kidneys, the saint has graciously refused, saying he does not wish to cause pain or suffering to anyone for his own treatment.
Who is Premanand Maharaj?
Born Anirudh Kumar Pandey in Sarsaul Block of Kanpur, Premanand Maharaj renounced worldly life at the age of 13, following in his grandfather’s ascetic path. After being initiated into the Radhavallabhi Sampradaya with the ‘Sharanagati Mantra,’ he rose to become one of the most revered spiritual figures of the present time.
His Vrindavan ashram has drawn visits from several well-known personalities, including Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, The Great Khali, Hema Malini, and Mohan Bhagwat, underscoring his wide spiritual influence.
