Ahmedabad: Panic gripped the Meghaninagar area near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon after a plane crashed and went up in flames, sending thick plumes of smoke billowing into the sky.
According to the police, the aircraft crashed shortly after noon, triggering a fire at the crash site. Fire officer Jayesh Khadia said fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately to contain the blaze.
Visuals from the area showed dense smoke rising from the wreckage, drawing a crowd of anxious onlookers. The extent of damage and details about casualties, if any, remain unclear as emergency services continue operations at the site.
