The Uttar Pradesh government has proposed an allocation of ₹2,111 crore for the civil aviation sector in its Budget 2026–27. This funding reflects the state’s strong focus on improving regional air connectivity and expanding aviation infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh.

A key objective of the allocation is to support the Centre’s regional connectivity scheme, which aims to make air travel more accessible and affordable, especially for people in smaller cities and towns. By improving air links to these regions, the government hopes to boost economic growth, tourism, trade, and job creation across the state.

A major share of the budget has been earmarked for the development of the Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Budh Nagar district. The Greenfield Airport, being built under a public-private partnership model, is currently under construction, with work on the first phase progressing steadily.

The state government has proposed ₹750 crore specifically for the establishment of Jewar International Airport. In a significant expansion plan, the government has decided to increase the number of runways from the originally planned two to five. Once completed, this will make Jewar one of the largest and most advanced aviation hubs in India.

Beyond passenger services, the government also plans to develop Jewar airport as a centre for aviation innovation and research, as well as a hub for aircraft maintenance and operations. These initiatives are expected to attract domestic and international investment, create thousands of jobs, and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position in the national aviation ecosystem.

In addition to Jewar, the state has proposed ₹1,100 crore for the construction, expansion, and strengthening of government-owned airstrips across Uttar Pradesh. This funding will also support land acquisition for future aviation projects, signalling a long-term strategy to modernise and expand the state’s air infrastructure network.

Overall, the budget highlights Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to building a strong, well-connected aviation sector that supports economic development, regional growth, and improved access to air travel for its citizens.
