Two African nationals arrested in Delhi for trafficking cocaine and MDMA

New Delhi: Two foreign nationals have been arrested in Delhi's Govindpuri area for allegedly trafficking drugs, including cocaine and MDMA, with an estimated street value of Rs 10 lakh, police reported on Saturday.
The suspects, identified as Bernadin, 39, from Ivory Coast, and Ezekile, 33, from Nigeria, were reportedly residing in India without valid documentation. Authorities believe they turned to drug trafficking as a means of sustenance. Police added that there is no record of prior criminal activity involving the two.
Acting on a tip-off on Thursday, police conducted a raid at a property in Govindpuri, where the accused were detained, according to a senior police official.
During the operation, officers seized 36.64 grams of cocaine and 61.16 grams of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)--commonly known as Molly or Ecstasy--valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh. Additionally, eight mobile phones, a weighing scale, pouches, packaging materials, and Rs 10,600 in cash were recovered.
A case has been registered at the Govindpuri police station under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act.
