Telangana Minister Performs CPR After Man Collapses in Assembly

A medical emergency unfolded at the Telangana Assembly on Tuesday when a man suddenly collapsed on the premises during the ongoing session. Telangana Minister Vakiti Srihari immediately rushed to his aid and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before he was shifted to a hospital.

The man, identified as Raju, is the Personal Secretary to senior IAS officer Naveen Mittal.

According to the Congress PRO, Raju collapsed inside the Assembly premises earlier in the day. Minister Srihari, who noticed the incident, stepped in without delay and administered CPR.

Medical personnel later arrived at the scene, following which Raju was shifted by ambulance to a hospital for further treatment. Details about his condition were not immediately available.

The incident took place amid a politically charged Assembly session in Telangana.

The session had already witnessed dramatic developments following a confrontation between Opposition BRS leaders and officials on the Assembly premises on its opening day. The episode later escalated into another round of political confrontation between the ruling Congress and the BRS.

Against this backdrop, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar at his chamber on Tuesday and expressed solidarity with him following the developments witnessed on Monday.

Meanwhile, Saifabad Police detained BRS leaders and workers who were protesting outside Narayanguda Police Station following the arrest of BRS MLCs T Madhusudhan Rao, also known as Tata Madhu, and N Naveen Kumar Reddy.

The two MLCs were arrested in connection with alleged remarks made against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.
