O Panneerselvam emerges victorious in Bodinayakanur constituency under DMK banner

DMK candidate O. Panneerselvam has won the Bodinayakanur constituency by over 6,000 votes.

The Bodinayakanur Assembly constituency, located in the Theni district of South Tamil Nadu, was one of the most closely watched seats in the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections. Historically a significant political hub, the constituency witnessed a major shift this cycle with long-time representative and former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam contesting as a DMK candidate following a landmark political realignment.

The emergence of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections has triggered a political shake-up, disrupting the decades-long dominance of the state’s traditional Dravidian parties.
