Modi giving shape to Swami Vivekananda's dreams: Union minister Suresh Gopi

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Union Minister Suresh Gopi marked Swami Vivekananda's 163rd birth anniversary on Sunday by addressing party members, focusing on the philosopher's vision for a united and progressive India.
In his speech, Gopi highlighted India’s demographic advantage, pointing out that 65% of the population is under the age of 35. “The demographic dividend provides us with unmatched energy, resources, and talent. Young India holds the key to becoming a fully developed nation by 2047,” he remarked.
The minister connected Swami Vivekananda’s ideals with the current national goals. “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving shape to the dreams seen by Swami Vivekananda.”
Turning to Kerala, Gopi raised concerns about the state’s rising issues, including drug abuse, crime, and mental health crises. He called for urgent measures to address these problems, advocating a return to universal values of brotherhood and unity as championed by Swami Vivekananda.
Earlier, Gopi paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s statue at Kowdiar Square in Thiruvananthapuram. The minister also reflected on the philosopher’s legacy, noting his significant contributions to introducing Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world.
