Posters in Madurai reignite rumours of actor Trisha’s entry into politics

Madurai: Fresh speculation surrounding actor Trisha’s potential political debut has emerged after posters surfaced across Madurai under the banner of the Trisha Welfare Association. The posters assert that the temple city “is the soil where every political party has its roots”.

The display also alleges that the Trisha Welfare Association is “the first one recognised by the Tamil Nadu Government”, though there is no official verification on whether the group has received any authorisation from the actor herself.

Rumours regarding her political ambitions have been circulating on social media, largely driven by her recurring public appearances alongside Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. Notably, she attended his swearing-in ceremony following the election victory of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). However, the actor has previously dismissed claims of any formal ties to the TVK.

In this context, the newly established Trisha Welfare Association has drawn public attention. Members of the group have put up posters across Madurai, subtly encouraging the actor to step into active politics. As of the time of publication, no statement or denial has been released by the actor or her team regarding the campaign.

While the posters cite registration number 53/2026, they omit the names and specific roles of the organisation's office-bearers. Instead, the printouts display photographs of approximately seven men clad in white shirts, presumably representing the organisers.
It is to be noted that these posters have surfaced at a time when actor Trisha finds herself at the centre of intense media attention, following the high-profile arrest of DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin over an alleged vulgar double-meaning remark directed at her during a political rally.
