Nestlé India has rejected allegations circulating on social media that insects were found inside a packet of Maggi noodles, maintaining that its products meet stringent quality and food safety standards.

The company issued a detailed statement after the matter attracted regulatory attention and public scrutiny online.

Nestlé says complaint remains unverified

According to the company, the allegations are based on an unverified social media account and the complainant has not yet provided the product sample for examination.

Nestlé said it has been unable to independently inspect the packet at the centre of the allegations because the account associated with the complaint is currently unreachable.

The company stated that while the claims have gained attention online, it has not received the physical sample required to verify the allegations through its own investigation process.

Laboratory analysis found no infestation

The company further stated that samples were tested by an FSSAI-accredited laboratory as part of a comprehensive investigation.

According to Nestlé, the laboratory findings confirmed that the samples complied with applicable quality standards and showed no signs of infestation or contamination.

The company said the analysis specifically confirmed the absence of infestation of any nature in the tested samples.

Company stands by food safety standards

The company said maintaining product quality and consumer safety remains a top priority and that it continues to operate with full transparency during the review process.
