National Postal Week 2026 begins October 9: India Post to showcase digital transformation

India Post will celebrate National Postal Week 2026 from October 9 to 15, beginning on Friday with World Post Day.
The week-long celebrations will highlight the Department of Posts’ efforts to modernise postal services, strengthen financial inclusion and improve accessibility through technology-driven initiatives.
According to the Department of Posts, this year’s World Post Day theme is ‘World Post Day: One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities.’
The celebrations will focus on India Post's enduring role in connecting people, communities, and businesses while adapting to citizens' changing expectations.
The Department is working to create a more accessible, citizen-centric postal network through initiatives such as N-Gen Post Offices and Jan Sewa Connect Post Offices.
Digital platforms, including the Dak Sewa App and Dak Mitra App, also aim to make postal services more convenient and easier to access.

October 9, World Post Day: The celebrations will begin by highlighting the universal importance of postal services in connecting individuals, communities, and businesses, and in facilitating communication and access to essential services.
October 12, Fun with Philately Day: The day will focus on the cultural, historical, and educational significance of stamp collecting. It will also encourage greater appreciation of India’s postal heritage and philately's role in preserving the country’s diverse history.
October 13, Financial Inclusion & CCS Day: The Department will highlight the contribution of its extensive postal network towards expanding access to financial services among citizens from different geographical and socio-economic backgrounds.
October 14, Mails & Parcels Day: The day will focus on reliable, efficient mail and parcel services, highlighting India Post’s role in connecting individuals, businesses, and institutions across the country.
October 15, Technology & Innovation Day: The final day will showcase the adoption of technology and innovative solutions to improve postal operations, enhance service delivery and make services more accessible to citizens.
