New Delhi: U.S. Vice President JD Vance, along with his wife Usha Vance and family, began a four-day official visit to India on Monday, April 21. The visit, which comes during a 90-day pause on new trade tariffs, holds both diplomatic and personal significance—marking Vance’s first official trip to the country and honoring Usha Vance’s Indian roots.
April 21 – Arrival in New Delhi & key diplomatic talks
10:00 AM: The Vance family arrived at the Air Force Station, Palam, New Delhi.
Hotel Stay: The family is staying at the ITC Maurya Sheraton.
Sightseeing: Scheduled visits include the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple and a shopping complex for Indian handicrafts.
PM Modi: JD Vance to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6.30pm, Lok Kalyan Marg. The meeting will focus on expediting the India-U.S. bilateral trade agreement and enhancing strategic ties. The meeting will be attended by EAM S. Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra.
Post-meeting dinner: PM Modi will host a formal dinner for Vance and the accompanying U.S. officials, including representatives from the Pentagon and State Department.
