WATCH | Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi joins young officers for push-ups at IMA Passing Out Parade

Dehradun: Indian Army Chief Gen. Upendra Dwivedi celebrated the induction of nearly 500 new officers on Saturday by joining the graduates for a set of push-ups following the Autumn Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy.

The high-energy moment followed a morning of rigid military tradition at the academy's iconic Chetwode Drill Square, often referred to as the "Temple of Martial Learning."

A total of 491 newly commissioned officers, including several foreign cadets from friendly nations, completed their training. The ceremony culminated in the symbolic "Final Step," where cadets march across the threshold of the academy's gates, looking back at the academy one last time before officially transitioning into their roles as commissioned officers in the Indian Army.

Gen. Dwivedi, serving as the reviewing officer for the parade, praised the cadets for their discipline and unison during the march.

Simultaneously, the Indian military celebrated a second major milestone in Dundigal, Hyderabad. A Combined Graduation Parade was held at the Air Force Academy to mark the completion of pre-commissioning training for flight cadets across various branches of the Indian Air Force.

Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Anil Chauhan served as the reviewing officer for the Air Force ceremony, overseeing the graduation of the newest cohort of aviators and ground duty officers.
