Sorens of Jharkhand take a ‘Bekal’ break in Kerala, stay an extra day

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and wife Kalpana Soren recently visited Bekal in Kerala's Kasaragod district for a vacation. The couple were so enamoured by the scenic beauty of the town that they extended their stay. Originally planned as a three-day trip, the couple stayed an extra day, soaking in the beauty of Kerala.
The Soren couple had arrived in Bekal on Tuesday night, travelling from Mangaluru by car. They stayed at the Taj Hotel, part of the BRDC (Bekal Resorts Development Corporation Limited) project. During their trip, the Sorens toured the Valiyaparamba Backwaters on a houseboat.
They also relished local Kerala cuisine, including traditional dishes like Matta rice, onion vada, and potato bhaji, while also enjoying a houseboat safari along the Tejaswini river at Nileswaram.
Before leaving, Hemant Soren met with Kerala’s Tourism Minister P A Mohammed Riyas and invited him to visit Jharkhand.
This marks the second time Soren has chosen Kerala for his vacation, as he also visited the state last year.
