DigiYatra expanded to Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore and six other airports

The Airport Authority of India launched DigiYatra across nine airport entry points to enable a smooth and seamless journey to passengers. The app was launched at Visakhapatnam, Patna, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Goa (Dabolim), Indore, Ranchi, Coimbatore and Bagdogra airports today.
The DigiYatra app gives special advantages to travellers like avoiding long security check-in queues and a smooth, paperless transit through the airport. Once you download the app, and scan your boarding pass, your face becomes your boarding pass. No need to carry the physical copy of the boarding pass, or even your mobile phone for roaming around the airport. At every security check point, there is a separate queue for DigiYatra passengers, which is almost always empty as the process is smooth and quick.
The Digi Yatra app connects a traveler’s boarding pass to a facial recognition system (FRS) for identity verification. This integration streamlines the process, reducing the time needed to reach the boarding gates and complete pre-security checks
How to Use DigiYatra?
Download the DigiYatra app from the Play Store or App Store.
Register with your mobile number and OTP.
Link your identity credentials via DigiLocker or Aadhaar.
Upload a selfie to the app.
Update and share your boarding pass with the departure airport through the app.
Apart from offering seamless, smooth, quick and paperless travel the DigiYatra app also offers enhanced security. Utilizing facial recognition and advanced security measures, DigiYatra ensures that only authorized passengers can access secure areas. Besides it also ensures passenger data privacy. The data is securely stored on the smartphone using encryption and blockchain technology. This data is only shared with the departure airport and is deleted from the airport’s system within 24 hours.
Apart from the various advantages of the app for the passengers, the app helps the airport operators to monitor passenger volumes in real-time.
Digi Yatra, introduced in December 2022 at Bengaluru, Varanasi and Delhi airports has gained rapid popularity among travellers due to its ease and convenience. Since inception, over 3 crore people have used Digi Yatra and over than 53 lakh individuals have downloaded the app.
The facility is also available at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolkata airports.
