Planning to send Rakhi? Delhi Post rolls out special postal services ahead of Raksha Bandhan

For many brothers and sisters living in different cities, a Rakhi reaching on time is as important as the festival itself. With Raksha Bandhan approaching, the Department of Posts has introduced special arrangements across Delhi to help people send Rakhi and other important consignments without last-minute delays.

According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, the Department of Posts in the Delhi Circle has set up special Rakhi booking counters at 34 major post offices, along with dedicated facilities at Delhi Railway Station and New Delhi Railway Station, to handle the festive rush.

The department has also advised customers to post Rakhi consignments early. Special arrangements for Rakhi Mail will remain in place until August 22, 2026, ahead of Raksha Bandhan on August 28.

To ensure faster delivery, customers can use 24 SPEED POST and 48 SPEED POST services, which offer time-bound delivery standards. The services also come with a Money Back Guarantee if the promised delivery timelines are not met.

The 24 SPEED POST service is available at 35 designated booking locations for deliveries to six metro cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. The Ministry of Communications said the service is aimed at providing a fast, reliable and assured delivery option during the festive season.

Special Rakhi counters have been set up at several major post offices, including Ashok Vihar HPO, New Delhi GPO, Civil Lines PO, New Subzi Mandi PO, Chanakyapuri PO, Naraina Industrial Estate HPO, Delhi GPO and Patel Nagar PO.

The same facilities are also available at post offices in Delhi Cantt, Paschim Vihar, Hauz Khas, Ramesh Nagar HPO, Indraprastha, Rohini Sector-7, Janakpuri, R.K. Puram Sector-5, Krishna Nagar, R.P. Bhawan, Karol Bagh and Sansad Marg.

In addition, Speed Post booking services are being provided through multiple locations across the capital, including Kashmere Gate, Basant Lok, AMPC, Market Road, Krishna Nagar, Delhi GPO, New Delhi GPO, Naraina Industrial Estate, POS Counter RMS Bhawan and the E-Commerce Centre at Safdarjung.

With thousands of families celebrating Raksha Bandhan across distances every year, the department's special counters and faster postal services are intended to help ensure that Rakhis and festive greetings reach loved ones before the celebrations begin.
