Delhi shocker: Cop killed in road rage incident after being dragged 10 metres by car

New Delhi: A Delhi Police constable, identified as 30-year-old Sandeep, was killed in a road rage incident in the Nangloi area on Saturday night after being crushed by a speeding car. The incident occurred around 2.15 am near Veena Enclave while Sandeep was on duty, dressed in civilian clothes, and heading towards Railway Road from Nangloi Police station. Upon spotting a car being driven recklessly, he requested the driver to slow down, according to the Delhi Police.
In a sudden turn of events, the vehicle accelerated, hit Sandeep’s motorcycle from behind, and dragged him for about 10 metres before crashing into another car. The vehicle has been seized, but the accused remains at large, the police confirmed.
CCTV footage reveals critical details
CCTV footage of the incident revealed that Sandeep had taken a left turn and signalled the driver to slow down. However, instead of complying, the driver sped up, striking Sandeep and dragging him along with his motorcycle. The car came to a halt after colliding with a parked vehicle, causing Sandeep to suffer severe head injuries.
Sandeep was immediately rushed to Sonia Hospital and later transferred to Balaji Hospital in Paschim Vihar, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigation underway; accused still absconding
Delhi Police have registered a case under Section 103 of the BNS (murder) and launched an investigation into the matter. Two suspects involved in the incident are currently absconding.
“Sandeep is survived by his mother, wife, and five-year-old son. The Delhi Police mourn the loss of a family member under such tragic circumstances,” the statement from the police said.
